Absolutely beautiful day out here at Lake of the Ozarks as our son, Marty and I take off down Hwy 54 West towards Osage Beach. Lots of traffic out, many folks are out enjoying the day! Marty spotted a red PT Cruiser right away heading towards the city of Jefferson. He's going to be my photographer today as we are going to his favorite store! O.B.F.M. which stands for Osage Beach Flea Market. We always have such a fun time when we do updates here. Got to introduce Marty to Don and Mickey Mouse. (See, I told you that you were in The Back Way!) Even got to see Randy from Maple Street Emporium here today. Busy taking pictures and meeting all kinds of interesting folks and finding out what they collect! Got some good photographs and two pages of new information! They have so many great deals on used computers here in the store, you'll have to come see for yourself. And don't be surprised if many things are gone, each weekend, their store is packed and many items go! They are open every day but Tuesday, stop by and tell Don and Caroline and Mickey Mouse hi! Got the update, down to the Post Office, got gasoline and heading home the Back Way. It's mighty hot outside now, please remember to bring lots of water to drink and ice to keep it cool. You never know when it might come in handy! We've passed out several bottles of cold water to folks when their car was broken down on the highway. Be safe and have a GREAT trip to the Lake of the Ozarks! We're so very happy to have you visiting our neck of the woods! ENJOY!

Beautiful day out as Darlin' and I head East on Hwy 54. turned left at the Hwy 87 & M intersection. Highway 87 takes you into Eldon, Missouri. Such pretty yards with blooming trees, many types of shrubs and lots of colorful flowers. Nice neighborhood. We got to have a short visit with several stores down on Maple Street and delivered the latest JCAD brochures. I can't say they are Hot Off The Presses anymore. Now, they are Cool Off The Web! Darlin' has the entire site in HTML (hyper text markup language). It's great! He has made many changes to the JCAD site. The entire brochures is now on the main page and it's interactive. You can click on any store name to bring up their web site and also, our latest JCAD Sponsor, Nature's Source, on their ad, you can click on their e-mail to write to them directly. And boy, do these brochures look good in print. Thanks to Community Copy Center in Hermann for shipping us the paper! We delivered brochures all around town and across from the airport is one of our JCAD stores, Anita's Keepsake Kottage. Met Alicia outside for a quick visit. My goodness, Anita has been very busy painting on everything. These two women come up with some unique items and have the artist eye to make it all look good with any decor! They also now have a visiting artist from Springfield having 2 day seminars once a month. Classes are open to the public, but e-mail them soon because space is limited. They sure have gotten a lot more furniture and unique gift ideas! They are always a pleasure to visit with. Please tell them JCAD sent ya! We had a good visit, got a good update and Darlin' got some great pictures. We will be coming back tomorrow to help Alicia with their computer. We're so proud of these folks. Come see them soon! We headed home the back way while watching the beautiful sunset. The song birds are out singing, it's a nice end to a nice day. Take care and come traveling with us again soon.

It's a cloudy and hazy day as I head East on Hwy 54. Lots of traffic heading towards the City of Jefferson. Love these cloudy days in July. We've had very hot, humid days, so it's nice to get a break now and then. Got off the highway at the Eldon & Tuscumbia exit, which is Hwy 52 and beside a big truck stop. You can't miss it. Turned left and headed into Eldon. Looks pretty where they have mowed and brush hogged the yards and fields. On into town to stop at the Bass Pro and get gasoline. It's a nice convenience store and bait and tackle shop. Gasoline is $144.9 a gallon today. The price goes up and down almost daily. On down to Maple Street and beside the huge WWW World Wrestling Headquarters Sign is an antique store, Blast From the Past. So much stuff! Had a GREAT visit with Gene and got some good pictures and 2 pages of update information. Passed out JCAD brochures to all his customers and added a new JCAD URL sign on his front door. The direct sunshine sure fades them out. Across the street to say Hi to Randy at Maple Street and Don at Past n Present. On down the street to meet new folks at a new store in town called 'Tiques and Things. It's on the corner in a 3 room Mini Mall. They have all kinds of items, only open about a month. How nice to meet Ted and learn they are online, will be e-mailing his wife this evening. Good luck to you both! On down the road to One Blind Horse to see how these folks are doing. Their store looks better with each visit. Takes time to fill up a building with antiques and collectibles. Stop by and visit and please tell them JCAD sent ya! Thanks! Out of brochures, heading home the back way to download pictures and get busy on updates. Darlin' was working on the newest JCAD newletters and billing when I left home. Lots of tourists out and about. Welcome to the Lake area! Enjoy your stay and be safe!
