Good morning! Our daughter, Jesse stopped by after work with auto parts for our Toyota. Thanks for going by the Auto Zone in Jefferson City. Pretty nice day out, too bad we had Doctor appointments. Flu shots for all 3 of us here at home. Later, Marty and I got picked up by other children and off to see son-in-law, Dave and daughter Ray to celebrate their 4th wedding anniversary! Only 20 more years and you'll catch up with your Dad and I! Nice visit and of course, I had fun with granddaughter, Sarah. Wishing only the best for them all! Some of the trees and bushes are starting to get a little color in their leaves. They will be truly beautiful here before long! You'll want to bring the entire family to come travel the back way at Lake of the Ozarks. Hope to see you!

My Darlin' and I off to Osage Beach early today. Lots of traffic out on Hwy 54 West, as the weather is fabulous. Blue skies, sunshine and 60's, October at it's best. Got to stop by Kay's restaurant and have a lovely meal served by our daughter, Robin. Down to Wal-mart which is right next door to Kay's and we came across a yard swing on sale that we really liked. It's green, double seats with a console in between for drinks and books. Brought it home and Darlin' and Marty put it together this afternoon. It's truly wonderful! Watched the sun go down out swinging with my Darlin'. It's so nice to be out enjoying some quality time with my Darlin'. What a beautiful sunset!

Busy day. Darlin' has been working on computer to try and get hard drives going. Had lots of friends and family stop by to see how my Darlin' is feeling today. Appreciate all the support. Beware of bears in the air, clocking vehicle speeds down Hwy 54. Tonight was the first night that we had quite a chill in the air and our first fire of the season in our woodstove. It feels wonderfully warm. Really nice sunset here in Mid-Missouri, hope you got to get out and enjoy the beautiful colors, too. As always, thanks Marty for all your help. We sure do appreciate everything all of our children do for us. We are truly blessed.

Nice to wake up hearing my Darlin, Marty and Jesse laughing. I like that sound. Jesse stops by some mornings after work to run gym class with her little brother. They run several miles here in our very hilly neighborhood. Wonderful weather out today, have all the windows open. Fall in Missouri; you never know from one day to the next what to expect. Children did grocery runs for us, appreciate all the goodies that got put away in the freezer and pantry! They even helped stack the firewood, always chores to be done, wish we were able. Got some photos of good friends that came to visit. Got to take a one lap walk with my Darlin' this evening. The stars and planets are out bright, shiny and twinkling. It's been awhile since he's felt good enough for an evening walk. I'm so thankful.

Busy morning here, looked outside and a gray Ford pulls up in the side yard. Hey, the back way came to see us! Wonderful friends, Russell and Bree from Texas County, Missouri! It's been a few years since they've been here, had sent them an e-mail letting them know Darlin' was ill, how wonderful, they came to see about him! Took them on a small tour of Lake of the Ozarks and Osage Beach. Willmore Lodge and museum, Sullens lookout above the lake and down to see the fish at Bagnell Dam and to a few of our favorite shops on the Strip. Misting rain, home for wonderful feast. They had brought us some golden delicious apples from their place, turned them into apple crisp to go with our pot of chili, turnips, carrots and cornbread. All here watching Lord of the Rings. These folks have been great friends for almost 20 years and we have enjoyed watching each others children grow up. Thanks for your love, strength and many hugs. What a wonderful weekend you gave to us. Hey, now, you are in the back way, too! News flash! Our daughter Robin and boyfriend Brian stopped by late. They are now engaged! How wonderful, we are so very happy for them! True love in this world is hard to find! All our best to them for a lifetime of happiness!

A day for outside chores after school. Marty helped me gather seed and he dug holes around the house, we planted 9 patches of chocolate mint that had been rooting in the birdbath, roots were wonderful. Got houseplants brought in, transplants done and others left to fend for themselves in the cold temperatures. Nice visits from neighbors Ray, Sharry and Earnie in the evening. We sure do appreciate seeing them. Miss visiting with our many good neighbors each week as we did for many years when we ran our Miss Helper! business. Hope ya'll read this on-line, soon!

My children drove me to Georgia this weekend to attend the Memorial service for my Dad tomorrow. My Darlin' was physically unable to go. Took them the back way through North Georgia, leaf color in the mountains were beautiful in Elijay. We were all so tired after the 18-hour trip. Very painful, but glad to have made it. Nice visit with Mom, Tom, Linda, Liz, Pam and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Have not seen many of them for over 20 years. Wonderful to see my good friend, Chris and her daughter, Lani. Did get to go with my Mom, Robin and Sarah to the Monroe library so she could see her CD of 635 family photo's we had made for her last Christmas. She even got to see our JCAD site and read some of the Back Way. It was a fast trip, we made it home Sunday afternoon.
