11/5/99 Another beautiful day in the Ozarks this Friday morning as we head East on Hwy 54. Blue sky and 70's, what more can you ask for? What a perfect day! Turned West onto Hwy 52. Brown oak leaves fluttering in the wind. All the trees have lost their bright colors. Now and then you glimpse an extra red or orange maple tree but that's about it. Up to the car wash, wonderful Darlin' is washing the Toyota as I write this. We're in Eldon to do updates and to sign up a new store! Stopped by the new store to introduce Darlin' to the owner, Gene at Blast From the Past. We caught him before his morning jog. Got to get busy in his store taking photo's and making our listing of items he has for sale. Gave JCAD brochures to all the customers that came in. All were interested. Had a good visit, you may see his new page now on JCAD. We wish him the best of luck with his new store! On over across the road to give Randy a hard time at Maple Street Emporium. Got lots of update information. He's always such fun to visit with. He gets unique items each week so visit often. The store sure is evolving nicely. Tell Randy that JCAD sent ya! Camera is full, clipboard full of pages of information. Home we go the back way to get busy adding all this info to the web pages. Enjoy this unusual great November weather and come visit all these wonderful antique stores in Mid-Missouri! 11/13/99 Beautiful sunshine and blue sky as we head West on Hwy 54. Took Hwy 52 towards Eldon. Lots of traffic out as folks are out enjoying this great weather! Drove by the Haynes Auction, packed for blocks around, lots of folks and lots of cars parked along the roads. Hope they had a GREAT auction! Went to see a new store, we met Anita and Alicia yesterday and e-mailed back and forth last night. They recently purchased Anita's Keepsake Kottage across from the airport in Eldon. Today they are joining our JCAD web site. They have great enthusiasm and enjoy what they do. They seem like real nice folks so come see their site and come travel the back way to visit them in person. Please tell them JCAD sent ya! Thanks! 11/22/99 Wonderful raindrops as we head West on Hwy 54. The Lake of the Ozarks is a beautiful blue as we cross the Grand Glaize Bridge. Lots of traffic out this Monday morning. We're heading towards Camdenton, raining like crazy now! GREAT! We've been TOO dry for TOO long. Maybe this will help put out all the wildfires we've been having. At the red light at Jct. 54/5, turn left onto South Hwy 5. Nice ride through the countryside. Down to Lebanon, turn right onto West 32, also called Elm Street. Stay on Business Loop 44 heading out of town. Now the sun is shining, how nice to see the roads all wet, even puddles along the sides. Noticed a lake off on the right. Where did that come from? We've been by many a time and never noticed it before. Today we're taking I-44 West to Conway, get off on Exit 113. Turned left onto Hwy J and into town. Stopped by the Post Office at Old Time Antiques and Collectables. Kim and "the boss" were there, got a good update. Their store has changed so much! They have really been busy! Heading out of town and stopped by to meet Dona at the truck stop that is now an Antique Mall. Just getting started, left JCAD brochure and wish her the best of luck on her new adventure! Gave JCAD brochures to all the customers, they were ALL on-line! :) Back towards Lebanon to have a nice visit at Annie's Flea Market. Always adding different items, friendly service, get to pet the cat! Something for everyone! Her computer is down right now, so we took her e-mail off her page for a while. Off we go to sign up a new JCAD member. We have known Jacquelyn for a couple of years now. Her store is wonderful as always, clean, well lit, restrooms for her customers and the store is handicap accessible. Yes, it's Pleasant Memories Antique Mall. We had a great time taking photo's and seeing such neat stuff! 70 dealers makes for a HUGE store! Halfway through, we headed outside and had lunch, rest up and then back to work! Keep your eyes on this page! It's gonna take off! Getting late, off we go North on Hwy 5. Stopped at a new store, Suite Memories. They are closed on Monday, but left a JCAD brochure on their door. Peeked in the window, looks like a nice place! We'll be back! Heading home the back way. What a beautiful sunset! Hope you got to enjoy it, too! 11/25/99 From our Family to Yours, Have a GREAT Thanksgiving! Be safe, have fun and get out and travel The Back Way! |
